“Preparing Future Faculty”
for Turkish Universities
What is the Preparing Future Faculty (PFF) Program?
The PFF program aims to better prepare graduate students for their careers as faculty members in higher education institutions. The program has been widely adapted and recognized in U.S. universities and colleges since its launch in 1993. The PFF programs provide primarily doctoral students with opportunities to observe and experience faculty responsibilities at varying types of institutions. Why PFF Turkey?
To our knowledge, there is no PFF counterpart program in Turkish universities that prepares graduate students in Turkish university context. We are adapting the PFF program and developing our own PFF programs at AGU and SU.What do we do?
Our project aims to design and implement the PFF program first at AGU and at SU, and to initiate collaborations with other Turkish universities and with other US universities. The project is funded by the US Embassy in Ankara through the Public Affairs Grant Program, with the aim of fostering Turkish and U.S. ties. This project web-site will be used to share resources in English and in Turkish and solicit collaborations from other universities in Turkey and the US.
